Natural Resources and Blue Economy

My priorities include Climate Change, Water Quality, Fracking and their impact on our Blue Economy.

Climate Change is our largest environmental threat so policies on the emission of green gases need to be guided by quality research.

Water Quality is critical because Michigan citizens deserve access to clean water. As a member of the SEMCOG Water Task Force, I will continue to support efforts to review all water and infrastructure issues in southeast Michigan.

Fracking (or “fracturing”) is a process which uses water to extract natural gas and oil. It has been found to cause groundwater contamination. I will support legislation and policies to reduce fracking in Michigan.

Our Blue Economy relies on addressing climate change, water quality and fracking so that our waterways are available, accessible and enjoyable. This Blue Economy provides economic opportunity for emerging industries and tourism.
